Blonde Hair For Spring

As spring approaches many women begin to contemplate their change of hairstyle and makeup for the warm months. Lighter colored hair and brighter makeup is most often the trend for spring and summer. I will be changing my hair for the new season. I am considering coloring my hair some shade of blonde. I know that there are some who believe that blonde hair should not be worn by dark skinned women, or anyone who is not Caucasian. I don't believe that to be the truth, I think that there is a shade of blonde for all women. I think the problem comes when women select the wrong shade of blonde for their skin tone. I have seen Caucasian women as well as lighter skinned African Americans with shades of blode that did not work well with their skin tone.

Then we have the people who say that African American women wear blonde hair because the want to be White. I am a dark skinned African American woman, there is no confusion about by race. If I select to dye my hair blonde, and you look at me and do not know that I am Black, you have a problem, not me. I do want to select the best shade of bonde for my skin tone so I have been researching to see what I think will work best for me.

I have added some pictures below for anyone who may also be considering going blonde. I have posted women of different races and skin tones wearing different shades of blonde. It's only right that I post Nene Leakes' picture first since she had black women everywhere trying blonde hair for the first time. The women didn't always get the shade of bonde right, but neither does Nene.

It's only hair. You can change it at anytime, so why not have fun with it.

Still Dancing At 106

Virginia McLaurin is still dancing at 106 years old. Ms. Virginia McLaurin was excited to visit the White House and to meet the first African American President and First Lady during Black History Month. The active 106 year old beauty showed the President and First Lady her dance moves as they danced along.

To still have a sound mind and to be able to dance at 106 is an awesome blessing! I am sure Ms McLaurin brought a smile to every one's lips.

Beyonce At The 2016 Grammys

Beyonce presented the award for Record Of The Year to Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson for "Uptown Funk." Beyonce took the opportunity while standing on the Grammys stage to address all of her haters and supporters as only she can. Beyonce received both praise and criticism for her performance of her new single, "Formation" at the 2016 Super Bowl. Beyonce used her song and video to remind the world that black lives matter. Some people were bothered by the reminder that police are killing black people while their hands are up, or backs are turned. Beyonce simply displayed an image with the words, stop killing us.

Here is what Beyonce had to say-"Art is the unapologetic celebration of culture through self-expression. It can impact people in a variety of ways for different reasons at different times. Some will react. Some will respond. And some will be moved."

Kanye West Season 3

Kanye West presented his Yezzy 3 Collection and his new album, "The Life Of Pablo" at New York Fashion Week Fall 2016. The show took place at Madison Square Garden. Kanye wore a shirt in honor of his late mother and father in-law before changing into some of his other Yezzy wear.

Naomi Campbell walked in the Yezzy Season 3 Show

This collection seems to have a wider range of colors and designs than the previous collections. I really like the added color. One thing that's obvious is that Kanye loves body con/fitted clothing. I did see a pair of joggers in this collection, so maybe he has other pieces for people who prefer a relaxed fit.

The entire adult Kardashian and Jenner klan came out in support of Kanye's new creations with the exception of brother in-law Rob. North West also came out to support her dad along with her mom who was sporting new platinum blonde hair. The family looked great while wearing some of the clothing from Kanye's collection. The family's neutral color scheme looked amazing.
