Matte Lips

I have a love hate relationship with matte lipsticks. I love the way they look, and the staying power, but they are really too dry for my lips. In liquid or solid form, I must use a lip balm before applying any matte lipstick to my lips. The lip balm causes the lipstick to not have the same amount of staying power as it does when used alone. A matte lipstick used with a lip balm still outlasts traditional lipsticks, so I guess it's worth the extra effort. Take a look at some of the beautiful shades of matte lipsticks available. Summer Updos

Part 5 in the Summer Hair Series is the Updo- I start this post with a picture of the queen of updos. No one can rock an updo quite like Janelle Monae. The updo will be making its' way to many weddings this summer, but the updo is not just for weddings. What better way to keep cool than to sweep all of your hair up of your neck. BET Awards

My favorite couple of the night was Ciara and Russell Wilson. Ciara's silver beaded dress was beautiful, and Russell's black jacket, and pants complimented her dress well. I am excited to see her happy.

Nicki Minaj, and Meek Mill walked the red carpet before they performed together along with Chris Brown.

Boris and Nicole Ari Parker's attire worked well together. Nicole followed the unspoken theme of the night, and dressed in all-white.

Faith Evans looked young and happy, and her body looked great! You go Faith!

Karrueche Tran stepped it up a notch last night at the BET Awards since her ex, Chris Brown and his ex, Rihanna, were both in attendance.

Rihanna wore a beautiful gold tuxedo short suit to bring a 1 minute sneak peek of her video "Bitch Better Have My Money."

LaLa Anthony was hot in a printed dress and yellow Giuseppe heels.

This Michael Costello dress showed off Brandy's toned legs. I liked her hair and pop of color that the shoes added.

Christina Milian's body, and hair looked perfect for this outfit.

The hosts Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross made the perfect pair. Now let's just talk about Tracee for a moment. Tracee had so many looks for the night, and each one more fabulous than the last. Tracee looked flawless in the white dress pictured. Everything was on point, from head to toe.

Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson was a vision in white as she accepted her BET Ultimate Icon Award. Janet did not perform, but the crowd went nuts anyway as she stepped onto the stage.  Janet has not aged at all. She looked young, slim and beautiful.

I love the hair, jumpsuit and accessories. Looking forward to the music tour.
